We have arrived

We all arrive at Marco Polo airport. Here is a link to the airport's website. This is an interactive site. To find a map of the airport so we can find each other, click on Ground Floor in the gray box and it will show you the map of the arrival area. If I am not right outside the baggage claim area waving hysterically, I will be in the Cafe Marco Polo calmly sipping a cappuccino.

Once we all get together we will head to the pier to catch our taxi to the hotel.

Our taxi will drop us curbside at the Hotel Antiche Figure right on the Grand Canal.

This is the view from the Grand Canal toward our hotel. The big church you see is the Church of San Simeon Piccolo. Built at the beginning of the 18th century it was intended to be a copy of the Pantheon in Rome; this is why it has a large green dome with the statue of San Salvatore on the top. This building has been used as an auditorium for concerts for some time now. The 5 story white building to the right of the church is Hotel Antiche Figure. On the far left in the distance, you can see the Bell Tower and top of St. Mark's Bascilica.
